Our Humble Beginnings

In 2004 God sent a directive to Carla Davis to start a prayer ministry. In obedience, she immediately began hosting bi-weekly services in her home and on January 9, 2007, a house dedicated solely to prayer services was opened in Georgia. The presence of God shakes the very foundation of this house during every service.

The Saturday service, which begins at 8:30 a.m., is a simple format of worship and praise with recorded music followed by a short Word and prayer according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  There is also a prayer service held each Tuesday at 5:00 a.m. , which is a more informal service.

Trained prayer intercessors assist with salvations, prayer needs and the overall “throne room experience”. The intercessors, many of whom have been with the prayer ministry since its 2004 inception, come together each week on one accord and walk out the gift of intercession that God has given them. Each intercessor has a true reputation for prayer and because they have dedicated their lives to prayer, employers, churches, family and friends often call upon them with prayer requests. The Center of Prayer is very much like the Acts 2 church.

A plethora of testimonies can be heard from the Center of Prayer---testimonies declaring that through prayer, debt was supernaturally cancelled; bodies were healed from cancer; children returned to God; persons hired for employment; and government laws  changed---all through prayer. These testimonies continue to be given as a testament of the miracles of our Lord God almighty.

In 2005, God called Carla Davis from a 28-year career to become a fulltime worker for Him, and in 2006 she received her minister’s license by Bishop S.Y.Younger of the Ramp Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. In addition to the full time work at the Center of Prayer, Elder Carla Davis assists with chaplain duties for her national women’s organization, leads the grief ministry (“Mourning to Morning”) for her local church, and assist with other growing church ministries.

It is Elder Davis’ and the Prayer House heart’s desire to serve people throughout their community and the world. To fulfill the vision of service that God has given this ministry, it is necessary to build a larger, concrete facility that can physically accommodate all who wish to experience this phenomenal prayer experience with other believers. Building plans are already in place for the construction of the new Center of Prayer, and each donation made on this Website will be applied to this cause.  Thank you in advance for your donations and your desire to be part of the prayer center dedicated solely to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
